Move your band’s songs to Taktum, the setlist app

Last updated Friday 30 October 2026.

Moving to Taktum, the setlist app for cover and party bands, starts with your songs. Coming from BandHelper, you send us your export and we move the library for you. With chart files, you import up to 100 ChordPro files at a time on the Import page, or paste a chart from the web.

Whichever way you come in, the band leader moves the songs first, then invites the band. Owners, admins and members can add songs; viewers can’t.

From BandHelper

We move your BandHelper library for you, into the band you’ve set up in Taktum.

  1. Export your songs from BandHelper, with their lyrics and chords. Export your setlists too, where your export includes them.
  2. Email the files to hello@taktum.app from the address you sign in with, and tell us your band’s name in Taktum.
  3. We load them into your band and reply with what came in, and which charts are worth a second look.
  4. Open Songs and check a few charts. Anything we got wrong, you fix in the chart editor.

What comes along for each song:

  • Title and artist
  • Key, BPM, meter and length
  • Lyrics and chords. Chords written over the lyrics become chords above their words.
  • Tags and notes
  • Setlists, where your export includes them, with the songs in their order

What stays behind: everything else, such as files attached to songs. A song without a key comes in as C, so set the right key on the song page. Songs already in your band, with the same title and artist, aren’t added twice.

From ChordPro chart files

If your charts are .cho, .chordpro or .txt files, you import them yourself.

  1. Sign in and open Songs.
  2. Choose Import.
  3. Choose your files, up to 100 at a time, and choose Import.
  4. Taktum lists the songs it imported and any file it couldn’t, with the reason.

Each file becomes one song. Title, artist, key, BPM, meter and length come from the file’s directives. A file without a title is named after the file, and one without a key is in C. Other directives stay in the chart. Chords written over the lyrics become chords above their words.

Pasting a chart

For a song that isn’t in a file yet, such as a chart on a web page:

  1. Open Songs and choose New song.
  2. Copy the chart, with its chords over the lyrics, and paste it into the chart.
  3. Taktum puts each chord over its word and suggests the key the chords point to.
  4. Add the title and artist.

After the move

Build your first setlist, then invite the band from Members as admins, members or viewers. Anyone in the band can export the whole library as a zip at any time, with one ChordPro file per song plus your setlists.

We’ll help if you ask
