Terms of service

Pilot draft under review, not yet in force. Last updated 27 October 2026.

In plain words

  • Taktum is invite-only and free during the pilot. If we ever start charging, we’ll tell you well in advance and you’ll never be charged without agreeing to it.
  • Your band’s songs and setlists belong to your band, not to us. You can export them any time.
  • You’re responsible for what you upload. Lyrics and chord charts of most songs are protected by copyright. Taktum doesn’t give you any music licence.
  • Treat API tokens and connected assistants like keys to your band’s library.
  • It’s a pilot: we work hard to keep Taktum running, but we can’t promise it’s always available or error-free. Keep your own export of anything you can’t afford to lose.
  • Danish law applies. Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer.

1. Who you’re agreeing with

These terms are an agreement between you and TaktumSoft, a Danish sole proprietorship owned by Mike Møller Madsen, address to be confirmed, CVR to be confirmed, email hello@taktum.app (“Taktum”, “we”, “us”).

They apply when you use taktum.app, the Taktum web app, its REST API and its MCP server (together, “the Service”). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

If you use Taktum for a band, company or association, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

2. Access during the pilot

  • Taktum is invite-only. You can only create an account through an invite from a band’s Owner or Admin, or from us. You can ask for access on our website; we decide who gets in, and we don’t have to give reasons.
  • The pilot is free. There’s no payment in the Service today.
  • Pilot features may change, move or disappear while we learn what bands need.

You must be at least to be confirmed years old, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission. See Privacy Policy section 12.

3. Your account

  • Give a real email address that you control, and keep your sign-in details (password, email account, Google account, authenticator app and recovery codes) safe.
  • Accounts are personal. Don’t share your sign-in with others. Invite them to the band instead.
  • Tell us at hello@taktum.app if you think someone else has accessed your account.
  • You’re responsible for what happens through your account, unless it’s our fault.

4. Bands and roles

Content in Taktum lives in bands. Each band has one Owner and people in these roles:

RoleCan
OwnerEverything an Admin can, plus delete or restore the band and hand ownership to someone else
AdminInvite people, change roles, remove members, change band settings, and edit songs and setlists
MemberEdit songs and setlists, and use Trash and history
ViewerRead everything, use the gig view, set their own capo, transpose and text size, and export

The Owner is responsible for who is in the band. When you leave a band or are removed, you lose access to its content, but what you added stays with the band (because it’s the band’s library), and history still shows that you made those changes.

5. Your content, and who owns it

  • “Content” means anything you or your band put into Taktum: songs, lyrics, chord charts, notes, setlists, band names.
  • You (and your band) keep all rights to your Content. We don’t claim ownership.
  • Content belongs to the band, not to the individual who typed it. Within a band, any Member can change it and any member can export it. Agree inside your band about who may copy what.
  • You give us a limited permission to store, copy, process, display and transmit your Content only to run the Service for you and your band (for example to show it on your devices, keep the offline copy, run backups, and send it to an assistant you connect). This permission ends when the Content is deleted, except for copies in backups until they expire.
  • We don’t use your Content for marketing or to train AI models. We won’t show your Content publicly. We’ll ask you first before using anything as an example (for instance a case study).

6. Copyright: lyrics, chords and charts

This is important. The lyrics, melodies and often the chord arrangements of most songs are protected by copyright, usually owned by songwriters and music publishers.

  • Taktum doesn’t license any music. Using Taktum doesn’t give you any right to copy, perform or share songs.
  • You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to upload and share the Content in your band (for example, because the song is in the public domain, you wrote it, or your use is allowed under copyright law or a licence you have).
  • Keep your Content inside your band. Don’t use Taktum to publish or distribute lyrics or charts to the public.
  • Performing songs live is a separate question, usually handled by the venue through a collecting society (in Denmark, Koda). That’s outside Taktum.

Notice and takedown. If you believe Content in Taktum infringes your rights, write to to be confirmed with: who you are, the work, where it is in Taktum (as far as you know), why it infringes, and a statement that your notice is accurate and in good faith. We’ll review it promptly, may remove or disable access to the Content, and will tell the band why when we can. The band can respond. We may close accounts of repeat infringers.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t:

  • break the law, or upload Content you have no right to share (see section 6);
  • upload malware, or try to get into bands, accounts or data you weren’t invited to;
  • probe, scan or test the Service’s security without our written permission. (Found a vulnerability? Please tell us at to be confirmed. We appreciate it.);
  • overload the Service, or get around rate limits, invite limits or other technical limits;
  • use Taktum to harass people, or put other people’s sensitive personal data in songs, notes or setlists;
  • resell or rent access to the Service, or copy its design or code to build a competing product;
  • scrape the Service except through the API and MCP server, used as described in section 8.

We may limit, suspend or remove Content or accounts that break these rules (see section 11).

8. API, MCP and connected assistants

  • API tokens. You can create personal API tokens for chosen bands, read-only or read-and-write. A token acts as you, capped by the bands and access you chose. Keep it secret, like a password. Anyone who has it can use it. Revoke it on the Connections page if it leaks. We show it only once and store only a hash.
  • Connected assistants (MCP). You can connect your own AI assistant (for example Claude) through https://taktum.app/api/mcp. You choose the bands and read-only or read-and-write. It never gets more than Member rights, and its changes appear in song history under its name.
  • You’re responsible for what your token or assistant does within the access you gave it, including changes and deletions it makes. Deleted items go to Trash for 30 days, and history lets you restore earlier versions.
  • Third-party assistants are not part of Taktum. Your use of an assistant is governed by your agreement with its provider, and that provider sees what you let it read (see Privacy Policy section 4). Only connect bands whose content you may share that way. We’re not responsible for the assistant’s output, mistakes or data handling.
  • We may change, version or limit the API and MCP server, including rate limits. We’ll try to give notice of breaking changes where possible (notice period: to be confirmed).

9. Availability, backups and changes

  • During the pilot, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do our best to keep it running, fast and safe, but we don’t promise any uptime, and there may be bugs, maintenance and outages.
  • The gig view keeps a read-only offline copy of your setlists on your devices, but it only covers what was synced before you lost the connection. Before an important gig, open the setlist on each device while online.
  • We keep database backups, but keep your own export of anything you can’t afford to lose. Export is available to every band member.
  • We may change, add or remove features. If we remove a feature you depend on, we’ll try to tell you in advance.

10. Pilot to paid

  • The pilot is free. If we introduce paid plans, we’ll announce prices in advance, by email to band Owners and in the app (notice period: to be confirmed).
  • Nothing will be charged automatically. A paid plan starts only if you actively choose it and accept the prices and terms shown then, including any consumer right of withdrawal.
  • If you don’t want to pay, you can export your library and leave, or stay on a free plan if one exists.

11. Ending your use, or ours

You can stop using Taktum at any time. Before you go:

  • export your band’s library (any member can);
  • if you’re an Owner, hand ownership to someone else or delete the band;
  • ask us to delete your account at hello@taktum.app.

We can suspend or close an account or band:

  • right away, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if it’s needed to protect other users or the Service, or if the law requires it;
  • otherwise, or if we end the pilot or shut down Taktum, with notice by email (notice period: to be confirmed).

Your data on termination. Unless the law or a serious breach prevents it, we’ll give you a chance to export your band’s library before we delete it. A deleted band can be restored for 30 days, then it’s removed for good. Copies in backups disappear when the backups expire (see Privacy Policy section 10).

Sections 5 (permissions only for retained copies), 6, 12, 13 and 14 continue after the agreement ends.

12. Liability

  • We’re liable under Danish law for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, and for anything else that can’t legally be limited.
  • Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect losses (for example a lost gig fee, lost income or lost data), and our total liability is limited to to be confirmed.
  • We’re not liable for third-party services we don’t control, such as your AI assistant, Google sign-in, your device, browser or network.
  • If you’re a consumer, these limits apply only as far as Danish consumer law allows, and you keep all your mandatory rights.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the pilot ends or paid plans arrive. For important changes, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect (notice period: to be confirmed). If you don’t agree, you can stop using Taktum and export your data before then. Small fixes (typos, clarity) may take effect immediately.

14. Law and disputes

  • Danish law applies, without its choice-of-law rules.
  • Disputes go to the Danish courts, with to be confirmed as the first instance.
  • If you’re a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a case in your own country’s courts.
  • Please write to us first at hello@taktum.app. Most things can be fixed quickly.
